How To Efficiently Move Your Business
You have outgrown your current office space and need to move. Unless you’re fortunate enough to be heading to one of the furnished serviced offices London, you and your employees (or colleagues) will be responsible for the removal of of ever item from the premises. Here are some tips to help the whole process go without a hitch.
Delegating Duties
If you’re moving to a facility with support staff dedicated to moving like serviced offices Victoria, your first act should be to assign someone the position of ‘moving day liaison’. This person will be in charge of answering questions and delegating duties to the movers. Boxes and furniture should be clearly labelled with details of what area they should be taken to, but talking your movers through the destination will help immensely. Making sure everyone knows what is going on will ultimately save you time and money.
Moving Furniture and Equipment etc
Personal items: Your personal property is not the responsibility of professional movers or even you colleagues. Papers, cash, clothing, pictures, plants and anything else of value should be packed and set aside before the movers arrive.
Desks: Pack everything in and on top of your desk. Box up whatever you have. The more of it there is, the more boxes you should be separating it into and categorising (labelling as you go). Papers and manuals and pens and pencils are all there to be found.
Filing cabinets and Files: Lock any filing cabinets, and you needn’t worry about transporting the files separately. Secure or confidential files may be protected by certain regulations, but your moving consultant can help you determine the best way to handle these items.
Do Not Move: Some items will need to be marked, ‘Do No Move’. Moving items that will just be discarded after the relocation is complete is a waste of money. If you’re relocating from serviced offices Mayfair or another managed office location, this won’t be necessary.
