When the inter­net first started, it opened up mil­lions of new doors for indi­vid­u­als and company’s to expand their busi­ness. Whereas pre­vi­ously they may have con­cen­trated on local or national mar­kets, inter­net mar­ket­ing allowed for global expan­sion. Inter­net mar­ket­ing is now on a global scale, in hun­dreds of coun­tries right around the world and is either mak­ing peo­ple very rich and some indi­vid­u­als just use it as a means to make a lit­tle extra money from their homes.

Encom­passed in the title or inter­net mar­ket­ing is also email mar­ket­ing and as the inter­net has rapidly changed since its birth, the inter­ac­tive nature of mar­ket­ing any ser­vice or prod­uct on the web, is now instantaneous.

One of the prob­lems with inter­net mar­ket­ing is when it entered the social media scene, as many peo­ple are buy­ing prod­ucts from ads they see on social net­work­ing sites.

See­ing some­thing that you have actu­ally cre­ated online, does give you a sense of self sat­is­fac­tion bear­ing in mind that you won’t actu­ally see 90% of what you cre­ate online. Even though it will prob­a­bly not make you money right away! Before you do make the deci­sion to get involved in any online busi­ness, please do your due dili­gence and find out what it takes to run an online business.

Firstly you must have a clear direc­tion of who you are going to mar­ket to online, the same as you would in the ‘real world’. And you should know what ser­vices and prod­ucts you are going to be mar­ket­ing. This will make every aspect of your new online mar­ket­ing ven­ture a lot sim­pler for you.
